All donations during this campaign will go to funding Erase the Space teacher-scholar-activists for their time, effort, and energy in service of dismantling white supremacy in our education system.
What Erase the Space is doing this year
In lieu of facilitating student exchanges for the 2020-2021 school year, we are focusing on teachers and the work we need to do together. This year, we are partnering with Otterbein University, OSU Extension, and the OSU Kirwan Institute for the Study of Race and Ethnicity to provide teachers with the necessary space and time to reflect and collaborate together in order to address white supremacy in our classrooms and in our schools and universities. In monthly Zoom meetings, we will spend time reflecting on our positionality in our respective classrooms and communities while learning from paid community educators (see attached schedule). Educators will eventually partner in order to plan an Erase the Space student exchange for the 2021-2022 school year.

- Support network of passionate educators across Ohio.
- Grant-funded professional development for educators provided by paid community practitioners: The Mosaic Education Network, the Compassionate Communication Center of Ohio, the OSU Kirwan Institute for the Study of Race and Ethnicity, OSU Extension, and other individual activists
- Opportunity to be part of a research study with the Kirwan Institute and provide feedback on the Erase the Space program
- Scholarships for teachers that compensate them for their time, energy, and action. Teachers receive compensation upon full participation for school year 2020-2021 (attends eight of 10 total Zoom sessions)
- If enough funds are raised for our teacher-scholar-activists this year, the money will be used for teacher compensation upon full participation for school year 2021-2022 (plan for student exchange during 2021-2022 school year)
