Erase the Space 2022-23
For the 2022-23 school year, Erase the Space will be facilitating classroom learning exchanges across Central Ohio. After completing our first in-person classroom exchanges last year, we are ready to expand. There will be an information session on June 29 from 9-10a for those interested in learning more.
There will be a one day virtual training/on-boarding for teachers participating in Erase the Space. On July 28 teachers planning on participating in classroom exchanges will Zoom in to engage with Glennon Sweeney and her presentation on "The Making of Metropolitan Inequality" from 10a-12p and with Dr. Melissa Crum for a group debrief of our scores on the Intercultural Development Inventory pre-test. There will also be one hour about Erase the Space itself from 3-4p so teachers have clarity on the purpose and curriculum of EtS. This workshop is designed for growth throughout the year with Erase the Space support. Teachers will also receive 5 CEUs for their participation.
Participating teachers will also receive support throughout the year for any logistical aspects of the exchange, conversations with administrators, and have created stock letters to parents, administrators, and all permission slips. The idea is that teachers should be able to just teach and engage students in shared learning and discourse. We can worry about and handle all the extra operational stuff.
